Wine Stained

There is something ethereally sexy about adorning wine-stained lips in the fall, especially an undone one. Because you may have spent the last 20 minutes trying to perfecting your lips with all kinds of pencils and long-lasting lipstick to prevent colors to slip away and create a cascading mess, it still looks like you just simply took a sip of wine, put on you heels and walked out of the door looking fabulously gorgeous in the crisp of an autumn night.

The darker hue of the color might be a bit frightening if nudes and pinks are your usually go-to choice of lipstick, but the beauty of this trend is its versatility. You can go totally vamp, or just go for minimum foundation, lashy mascara, lightly flushed cheeks (creating the allusion of having just finished an alcoholic beverage) and a stain of lipstick (best achieved by plotting tissue on freshly applied lipstick). Effortlessly chic, no?
I'm seriously conveting the Burberry Lip Cover #15 in Bright Plum. The color looks scarily purple in the tube but applies rather fabulously with a hint of warming red. Finish the look with a slightly cool-toned blush and bronzed eyeshadows, I'm so ready for autumn now!
